First Aid and CPR
- First Wave Training delivers and assesses the following courses on behalf of Surf Life Saving Queensland RTO#2804:
- HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid: This course will provide participants with the knowledge to administer First Aid care and treatment in the workplace or in personal situations. Provide First Aid covers adults‚ children and babies in a wide range of emergency situations. Learn how to provide crucial first aid in various situations, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies until the arrival of professional medical support. You'll gain the skills and confidence to act swiftly when it matters most. This one-day course provides successful candidates with the necessary skills of a Nationally recognised First Aid Certificate for 3 years.
- HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting: Tailored for educators and caregivers, this course emphasizes safety in educational and care environments. You'll be equipped to respond effectively to child-specific emergencies and ensure their well-being. It includes HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. Child and baby first aid, as well as incident report forms are an important part of this course.
- HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Learning CPR is a life-saving skill. Our CPR courses are designed to equip you with the confidence and competence to perform CPR when it matters most, potentially saving lives in critical situations.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid - 2 day course (14 hours) : Mental health is a vital aspect of overall well-being. Our Youth Mental Health First Aid training helps you recognise signs of mental distress, provide initial support, and connect individuals with professional help when needed. The course covers depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use problems, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, non-suicidal self-injury, panic attacks, traumatic events, severe effects of drug or alcohol use, severe psychotic states and aggressive behaviours.
PUA20119 - Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
If you're looking to enhance your water safety skills or become a lifeguard, our Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) is your path to achieving excellence in aquatic rescue and first aid.
Training and assessment of the course (PUA20119) is through Surf Life Saving Education RTO #2804, who will issue the Statement of Attainment / Qualification upon successful completion of the course requirements.
